At Open Arms Living LLC, our Supported Community Connection services help individuals actively participate in their communities while building social skills, independence, and confidence. This service focuses on creating meaningful engagement in everyday community life for individuals receiving HCBS supports in Colorado.
We support individuals in exploring their interests, developing friendships, and accessing community activities in safe and structured ways.

What Are Respite Services?
Respite Services provide short-term, temporary care for individuals with disabilities or support needs when their primary caregiver is unavailable or needs a break.
Care may be provided in the home or in a community setting, depending on authorization and individual needs.
Services We Provide
- Supervision and support with daily activities
- Assistance with personal care routines (as authorized)
- Engagement in recreational and social activities
- Support with meals and basic daily needs
- Safety monitoring and supervision
- Community participation (if appropriate and approved)
- Skill-building and structured activities
All services are delivered in a safe, respectful, and person-centered manner.
Who Can Receive Respite Services?
Supported Living Services (SLS) Waiver
Children’s Extensive Support (CES) Waiver
Developmental Disabilities (DD) Waiver (as authorized)
Community First Choice (CFC/IHSS) (if included in service authorization)
Services must be approved through the individual’s case management agency and service plan.

Helpful Resources
Case Management Agencies (CMAs)
Case managers coordinate respite services and ensure approval under the individual’s HCBS service plan.
Health First Colorado (Medicaid)
Medicaid funds approved respite services when included in an individual’s waiver authorization.
Community First Choice (CFC / IHSS)
DD Waiver: Supports individuals with developmental disabilities
SLS Waiver: Supports adults living in the community
CES Waiver: Supports children with developmental and medical/behavioral needs
CFC/IHSS: Supports independent living in the home and community
